10 Dec Siouxland Paramedics Names Robert Welte Director
Robert Welte has been named the new Director of Operations for Siouxland Paramedics, Inc. as of October 12, 2015.
Bob previously worked at Western Iowa Tech Community College as an EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Coordinator from 2000 – 2015. Previous to that he worked at Woodbury County Disaster and Emergency Services as a paramedic from 1995-2015 while working part-time as a paramedic at Siouxland Paramedics. He has served on the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department since 1985 and served as fire chief for 17 years and is the current Director of EMS for Danbury Ambulance. Bob holds certifications in ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS, ACLS-EP. Bob is an Iowa EMS and National EMS Instructor as well as an Iowa FFIII and Fire Instructor II
“Bob brings great expertise to Siouxland Paramedics,” said Karen Van De Steeg, Executive Director of Health Inc., which oversees Siouxland Paramedics operations. “We look forward to adding his experience and direction to the nearly 55 staff members who provide services to the Siouxland area.”
“I am excited to work with the dedicated and experienced staff here at Siouxland Paramedics,” says Bob Welte. “We are the sole 911 ambulance provider for the area and we work well with the local fire department to ensure that a First Responder is on the scene in less than four minutes within the city limits of Sioux City. We also provide free service to many community events from concerts to sporting events with an ambulance on site, all something to proud of.”
Bob lives in Danbury, Iowa with his wife Sherry. Bob and Sherry have 3 grown children, 2 daughters and a son, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Bob enjoys working on older muscle cars, golfing or Drag Racing his 1970 Plymouth Cuda. Bob and Sherry also enjoy spending time with their family.
